Disney World
Dinner and the resort
12.12.14 - 12.13.14
Last night's dinner was at the Biergarten restaurant in the Germany exhibit in World Showcase in Epcot. The dinner is buffet style with family seating, German servers and some excellent German beer. My table mates were a nice couple from Jefferson City MO, who wanted to do Disney without the kids to see what they missed the last time they were here. I had a 7:05pm reservation, and I was seated in about 10 minutes. The food was good, and the German show band was wonderful. Epcot in the evening is a bustling place, especially during the holidays. I am staying at the Port Orleans French Quarter resort which is in the Downtown Disney sector of the park. Location is everything when visiting Disney. Because you have to bus to everything from a majority of the resorts, the transport time can be considerable. It took me almost 85 minutes to get from the resort to the Germany pavilion. I was going to allow only an hour, but decided to go a little early. There was a considerable wait at the resort for the bus, and, due to the loop it takes, there were four more resort stops at the Port Orleans facility before we headed to Epcot. However, the ride home was good - with only a few minute wait for the bus, and a 10 minute ride to the resort, as my stop was the first stop in the loop.
