Regent Seven Seas

Coral Gables

sunny 80 °F

We had a lazy morning and then hit the road for about a four hour drive to the Hyatt Regency Coral Gables. The hotel is fine from the outside, but the room was tired and mediocre at best. The 'down comforter' had been washed many times and the down was now clumps in the cotton quilting. The room had only a chair and no couch and minimal amenities. This was part of the Regent package, and it was chosen as it is only a few minutes from the Miami Airport. In my experience, this was not a typical Hyatt Regency in quality. It was clearly a convention destination hotel though.
Coral Gables is a wonderful city - we stayed near the Miracle Mile which has a bunch of bridal shops and some great restaurants. We ate at the Angelique Euro Cafe, which was top rated in Tripdadvisor, and had a wonderful meal. This morning we walked the whole 'mile' and enjoyed the warmth of the Saturday morning. After check out, we will eat lunch and make the 30 minute drive to the cruise terminal.
