USA to Lisbon

sunny 78 °F

We left the USA today from Charleston to Atlanta and Paris. As it typical in Atlanta there was an afternoon thunderstorm, which delayed our departure by about 50 minutes and ate up much of our layover time in Paris. It takes a good solid hour to deplane and get to the connecting gate passing through security and customs in Paris. Luckily we were in business class, so we were off the plane in the first few and made it to the plane with about two minutes to spare. Had we stopped for a restroom break, we would not have made it.

Unfortunately our bags did not. In Lisbon, one "lost and found" company handles lost baggage for all the airlines, so that process added an hour in the airport. We are hopeful that we will get our bags before dinner....

AMA uses the Intercontinental Hotel Lisbon as the city headquarters. It's in a great location, next to the Four Seasons and across the street from Edwardo VII park - Lisbon's answer to NYC Central Park, though not nearly as big. As tomorrow has nothing scheduled, we will likely wander the park for some exercise!
