Celebrity Equinox

Boarding Day - Ft. Lauderdale

semi-overcast 78 °F

We boarded the ship quickly at about noon. It’s an easy process since the Equinox was using the Oasis/Allure of the Seas terminal – designed for ships twice our size. Since it was Monday, only Cunard’s Queen Victoria was in – a port call for them. I was impressed at how happy the staff was. Everyone bent over backwards to say good afternoon and welcome us aboard. Later that afternoon the Chief Housekeeper and her assistant stopped by the cabin to introduce themselves and to give me her card. I think this was a service provided to those with Elite status on Celebrity. After the mandatory emergency drill, we got underway at 4;30 pm and sailed into the sunset. Dinner was good and the introductory show was a smattering of the entertainment onboard and the superb usual four man singing group that is on every Celebrity cruise.
