At sea, on the way to St. Thomas, USVI

Dinner at Giovanni’s was good – the service was a little inconsistent as others around us seemed to be getting served in a more orderly fashion. There was plenty of food and they wanted to bring us more. We both settled on Carpaccio for the appetizer, penne pasta with shrimp, and my cruise mate had veal medallions and I had stuffed shrimp. I usually don’t order seafood at sea, but decided to take a chance here. The shrimp were good, but a little mushy. I should have gone for the veal. Afterwards, a quick stop at the pub and then off to the Aquatheater for the water show.
It was superb. The international cast consisted of swimmers, divers, gymnasts, synchronized swimmers and some cliff divers. Some were NCAA champions and all had awards and championships of some sort. This is another Oasis, not to miss event.
Today is a sea day with classes general sessions and a trade show. Breakfast was at the Windjammer buffet, where we beat the crowd, and lunch was at the Spa Café. We got a quick brief about the Marriott Frenchman’s Reef resort which is hosting a large beach party for 500 of us sponsored by Coors, Heineken and Captain Morgan. Should be interesting!
