At Sea back to Ft. Lauderdale

overcast 81 °F

This is the last day of the cruise, the day of account settling, last minute shopping and bill settling. Having the last day at sea is good since the packing evolution becomes less hectic.

My next blog will be of Quito Equador and the Galapagos in early March - another bucket list item - stay tuned!

Cozumel

sunny 85 °F

Today we did the two tank dive we were supposed to do in Belize. Not a big sacrifice because the Cozumel Marine Park is one of the finest reefs in the world. The marine life is spectacular and the Mexican divers are very protective of the natural environment, which is wonderful!

Belize

sunny 90 °F

We arrived in Belize about 10:30am local time. A Carnival Ship was already there. Belize is a tender port, and the tender ride is at least 45 minutes into Belize City. We were supposed to dive again, but the tour was cancelled due to mechanical problems with the dive boat, which was OK, because I was a little under the weather and was not going to dive anyway. We rescheduled our dive for tomorrow in Cozumel. As there is almost nothing on the pier area, we just stayed on board and did some more 'resting'.

At sea on the way to Belize

semi-overcast 80 °F

Another wonderful sunny day at sea. We are making about 20 knots into a headwind, so it is a little breezy topside. The highlight of the day was lunch with some clients for some time at the Bistro on Five - a crepe restaurant that has a $5 cover charge. It's not as used as it should be, for the food is excellent as was the company. The rest of the day was spent napping and wandering the ship checking out what little everyone else was doing. I did notice a long line of women shoppers waiting to get into the Quasar disco for the designer watch sale.

Puerto Limon Costa Rica

semi-overcast 93 °F

After a good dinner, we went to the second production show. It a Broadway themed production, which was much better than the first one which I thought was boring.
We set our clocks back overnight and and arrived early this morning. We never did get around to signing up for a shore excursion, so had no real plans. Other than the shore excursions to the rain forest, banana plantation and some other sites around the area, there is really not much to see at the pier and not even one shop! Additionally it was really hot and humid out (sorry you Northerners) and no breeze - reminding me of Charleston in August - so we just stayed on board. Got another book finished off and a standard cruise nap. Underway tonight for Belize - about 700 miles away northward.
